Iron Removal Filters
Iron in source water can cause staining, deposits and problems for downstream equipment. An iron-removal arrangement is selected according to the concentration and whether the iron is dissolved or already present as particles.
Selection and operation
Treatment may involve oxidation followed by a suitable filter medium. pH, oxygen availability and other water constituents influence the process. A water analysis is needed before selecting media or chemical treatment; one generic filter will not suit every iron-bearing source.
