Activated Carbon Filters
Activated carbon filtration can reduce chlorine and certain organic compounds that affect water quality. It is commonly considered ahead of chlorine-sensitive membranes and for taste or odour treatment where appropriate.
Selection and operation
Performance depends on the carbon type, contact time and loading. Carbon capacity is finite, so replacement should be based on water quality and service conditions. Removing chlorine can also remove a disinfectant residual, making downstream hygiene important.
What to check before selecting a system
- Specify the substance and concentration to be treated.
- Check contact time at peak flow.
- Monitor outlet quality and maintain the media bed.
Plan for ongoing service
Keep equipment model details, operating readings and maintenance records available. Review any change in source-water quality or demand before changing the operating settings or replacing components.
Discuss your water treatment requirements
Tell us your location, water source, required flow and intended application. A recent water analysis and equipment details help us assess the next step.
