WATER THAT WORKS FOR YOUR BOILER
Better feedwater starts
with the right treatment.
A boiler feed water system prepares the makeup water that enters your steam plant. Raw water may contain hardness, dissolved solids, suspended matter and dissolved gases that need to be managed for the intended operating conditions.
Swiss Aqua helps select the appropriate treatment stages around your water analysis and boiler requirements. The goal is a practical, maintainable solution that supports the water quality your equipment needs.
SYSTEM OVERVIEW
From incoming water to boiler feed
The arrangement below illustrates filtration, RO, polishing and dosing components. The final treatment train is selected for your project.

FEATURES & BENEFITS
Designed for dependable operation
Manage scale formation
A treatment programme matched to the feed supply helps control hardness and other deposit-forming constituents.
Support heat transfer
Managing deposits helps keep heating surfaces in better operating condition.
Address corrosion risks
Water chemistry, dissolved-gas control and suitable conditioning are considered together.
Support steam quality
Feedwater preparation works with boiler-water monitoring and blowdown management.
Plan for demand
Production capacity is selected around makeup-water demand, operating hours and required availability.
Simplify ongoing care
Accessible equipment, sampling points and operating records support service and performance checks.
THE TREATMENT APPROACH
Every stage has a purpose
Source-water assessment
Test the feed supply and confirm the boiler manufacturer's requirements before choosing the treatment train.
Filtration & pretreatment
Media and cartridge filtration may address particles. Carbon treatment is considered where appropriate for the source and downstream equipment.
Hardness & dissolved solids
Softening, reverse osmosis or demineralisation is selected according to the required water quality. Not every boiler needs the same combination.
Polishing & conditioning
Polishing may be specified for tighter quality targets. Feedtank conditioning, deaeration and a suitable chemical programme are coordinated with the boiler system.
Operating limits and chemical treatment must follow the boiler manufacturer and the agreed water-treatment programme. This illustration is not an installation schematic.
APPLICATIONS
Supporting steam across industries
Power plants
Water preparation matched to the steam cycle and equipment requirements.
Industrial boilers
Makeup-water treatment for manufacturing and general plant utilities.
Chemical industry
Treatment selected around process steam needs and site operating conditions.
Pharmaceutical facilities
Boiler utility treatment assessed separately from any clean-steam or pharmaceutical-water requirements.
Food & beverage
Feedwater preparation for suitable steam utilities, with end-use quality requirements reviewed.
Textile industry
Support for steam supplies used in production and finishing operations.
Hospitals
Boiler-water treatment for site utilities, with separate assessment for specialised uses.
Hotels & commercial
Treatment sized around laundry, heating and other building service demand.
SELECTING YOUR SYSTEM
Built around your operating requirements
Water analysis
Start with the incoming water quality and review the relevant constituents against the required treatment outcome.
Boiler & steam demand
Confirm boiler pressure, rated capacity, operating schedule, condensate return and makeup-water demand.
Site & service access
Plan for available space, power, drainage, consumables and access for inspections and maintenance.
INSTALLATION & MAINTENANCE
Support beyond the equipment
Plan the installation
Coordinate the selected treatment stages with existing pipework, feedwater storage and the boiler house layout.
Commission the system
Establish operating readings and check the treated-water quality against the agreed requirements.
Keep performance visible
Maintain water-testing records and follow the specified schedules for filters, membranes, resin and chemical-treatment checks.
YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
Boiler feed water FAQs
Does every boiler require RO?
No. Treatment depends on boiler pressure, source-water quality, steam use and the equipment manufacturer's requirements. Some applications need a different treatment combination.
Is a water softener enough?
Softening addresses hardness but does not remove all dissolved salts or dissolved gases. A water assessment determines whether further treatment is needed.
Why is dissolved oxygen considered?
Dissolved oxygen can contribute to corrosion. Feedwater conditioning and gas-control measures must be coordinated with the specific boiler and its water-chemistry programme.
Is the supplied image the exact system I will receive?
The image illustrates a possible arrangement. Your equipment, capacity and treatment stages will be specified for your application.
